The Break™ Meal Plan
The Break™ meal plan provides a balanced diet packed full of all the nutrients that you require for good health.
Each week you will receive your meal plan and a shopping list. The meal plans feature every day foods readily available from the supermarket that can be easily incorporated into your family’s mealtime routine. The Break™ meal plan is proportionately higher in protein (but not a high protein diet) than conventional diets. Diets with elevated protein content have been shown to provide improved appetite control.
At the end of the 13-week Break programme, you’ll be aware of the foods and portion sizes that will help you to maintain your weight and you will understand the importance of maintaining an exercise regime to stay fit and healthy.

Sometimes there’s a moment when you stop just saying that you need to change, and you actually do something about it. For me, that moment came in March this year, when I finally admitted I wasn’t ever going to loose weight without some help. I’d read pretty much all of the diet books ever written, and even tried some of the more sensible ones. I knew what to do – but I just couldn’t seem to make myself do it. It was time to try something different.
I checked out lots of options, and finally chose “Break” at Configure Express. Break seemed to offer a really good mix of diet, exercise, and personal support. When I went in to the gym to find out more, Bridie (the manager) answered all my questions, but there was no hard sell. After talking to her I felt reassured that Break was going to be the right mix of structure and support for me.
And it really was! The programme was great – each week I got a new menu plan, with easy recipes and a shopping list, so I never had to spend a lot of time thinking about what I should be eating. I really liked most of the food, but the programme was flexible, so if I didn’t like a particular meal I could just substitute one I liked better. The best thing was that I was never hungry, because I was eating three balanced meals and three snacks every day. I also had some fantastic trainers, who helped to keep me motivated, and never made me feel bad about myself.
My goal was to loose 7 kilos over the 13 weeks – and in the end I lost 9.4 kg! Break has really lived up to its name for me. I’ve broken my old bad habits, and replaced them with healthy ones. Now I eat well and exercise because it makes me feel better than eating a bag of sweets on the way home from work. That’s the biggest change of all!

Wow, what an experience. I started Break because I felt fat and frumpy and was so unfit. I figured if I could lose 13 kg in 13 weeks, it would be a great start to loosing more weight and getting fitter. The thought of going to a gym absolutely terrified me. Once I plucked up the courage and made an appointment, it all changed – the staff at Configure Eastgate are wonderful. By the end of the first day I felt encouraged by their friendly ways and I wanted to lose weight. I felt they were with me the whole way, encouraging and celebrating with me as I got slimmer.
The ‘eating plan’ was easy to follow, using foods we already had.
It took me a while to get used to the exercising. My trainer (Kate) gave me a plan which I could do at my own pace and increase when I felt able. This was good as I never felt pressured, yet I lost the weight.
Today I feel so much better. Apart from being 13 kg lighter, I feel ‘good in myself.” My confidence in myself has returned – in my family life as well as in my church life and my work life. I now feel GREAT.
Life is good and I want to live it to the full. Being slimmer and trimmer will help me to achieve that.
